Federal Republic of Germany has offered DAAD German Exchange Scholarships for the academic year 2006-2007 in the following categories:
Long-term Research Grants (with a duration of more than six months) for doctoral candidates and Young Pakistan academics and Scientists under 32 years of age, with applicants who are university teaching staff being accorded preference.
"Sandwich"- type scholarships, a scholarships scheme for phD students under joint supervision, "Sandwich Model".
One year study Scholarships for Artists under 32 years of age.
Short-term Research Stays (up to six months) for University Academics and Scientists, for the purpose of executing research projects of limited duration including, particularly, data collection for a PhD dissertation in Pakistan.
Re-invitation Programmes (1 to max 3 months) for former DAAD Scholarship Holders.
