Current Job Vacancy in Oxford University: Departmental Lecturership in German Linguistics

GRADE 7: Salary £25,889 - £31,840 p.a. with a discretionary range to £34,793 p.a.

The University proposes to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in German Linguistics in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages. This fixed-term post, which is to cover while a permanent senior appointment is sought, is available from 1 October 2007 to 30 September 2008. There is no possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be required to deliver a range of lecture courses and tutorials within the field of German Linguistics. A completed PhD and a record of successful teaching (or participation in teaching and learning seminars or some other form of relevant training) are essential. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to lecture at an appropriate level to an undergraduate audience in an interesting and engaging manner. The ability to teach topics in sociolinguistics is desirable but not essential. Tutorial teaching in German linguistics is also required and will be paid for separately by the Colleges.
